I trained with Gary in Florida last May, and while I didn't find the Nuvera business I hoped for, one of the other independents in the class did and currently services 5 Nuveras successfully, including a newer EA Production box.
We were all long time DT/DP techs, and all four of us had color experience too. We did the class over a long weekend. The controller and DocuSP interface was so similar to the 6135 that we only needed a couple of hours for that, mostly to locate the pieces. Feeders were easy, IOT was a long day, finisher was the toughest part to grasp because it was so different from what we were used to.
We didn't get much in the way of breaks during the day, but partied a bit at night . . .
I've been to a variety of Xerox training classes, starting with the 813/660 and found the training geared to the lowest common denominator. A piece of the class always finished early, a piece never got it. Woe to you if you got one of the latter as a lab partner.
It would have been nice to have an extra day or two on the Nuvera we had, but the price was right, and I felt confident when I left that I could service the product.
