I trained with Gary in Florida last May, and while I didn't find the Nuvera business I hoped for, one of the other independents in the class did and currently services 5 Nuveras successfully, including a newer EA Production box.

We were all long time DT/DP techs, and all four of us had color experience too.  We did the class over a long weekend.  The controller and DocuSP interface was so similar to the 6135 that we only needed a couple of hours for that, mostly to locate the pieces.  Feeders were easy, IOT was a long day, finisher was the toughest part to grasp because it was so different from what we were used to.

We didn't get much in the way of breaks during the day, but partied a bit at night . .  .

I've been to a variety of Xerox training classes, starting with the 813/660 and found the training geared to the lowest common denominator.  A piece of the class always finished early, a piece never got it.  Woe to you if you got one of the latter as a lab partner.

It would have been nice to have an extra day or two on the Nuvera we had, but the price was right, and I felt confident when I left that I could service the product.

Nuveras just don't seem to be as prevalent in Print for Pay shops in competitive markets.
You see them where there is no independent service for the 6135, and of course, in corporate, health, other captive sites.

The newer EA version of the box is actually quite nice.   It took a long time to get here, but those of us who serviced 5090's at the product launch remember a very hard slog there too.

This economy is skewing everything, so it's hard to say what the future holds for an independent Nuvera market.
