Xerox Breaks Promises
« on: July 08, 2009, 09:46:52 PM »
When one retiree asked about broken promises, Mulcahy responded, “This was intended to be something that was not going to be a benefit that, you know, was an entitlement forever. It was subject to business conditions. It was subject to management discretion. I know people either don’t read it, or forget it, or it doesn’t make any difference, but that is the case with these benefits,” she said. “We needed to make sure that whatever resources we had we could direct to the pre-65 portion of this where, frankly, there are no other choices but Xerox for healthcare.”

What a response!!!

The Association of Retired Xerox Employees ( ARXE ) has opened a " Legal Defence Fund " to hire a legal firm take Xerox Corporation to court for the return of our retiree benefits . You can join ARXE at : http://www.arxe.org to assist in that effort and / or you can contribute to this legal defence fund at : http://www.arxe.org/information.cfm?subpage=412

Our ARXE chairman , David Coriale , has told the ARXE membership that some of the contributors to this legal defence fund are not ARXE members .

Xerox's attitude toward retirees is dismissive and arrogant. We have attempted to seek a fair settlement of this benefits elimination and have been rebuffed every step of the way.

We are now at a point in time when all of us need to band together for our common good and ask the courts for relief.  Join with ARXE in this mission to preserve our hard earned benefits.  Go to www.arxe.org and read more about what it is we are doing on all of our behalfs.

Every one of us has a stake in this action!  Are your benefits worth fighting for?

Appreciate your taking time away from your busy schedule with ARXE , David , to respond to Elion and myself on our " Broken Promises " topic .

For those Xertech members who are unaware , ARXE's normal annual yearly membership fee is $10 and they also do have a special ten year $60 fee for those interested who don't want to have to write a $10 check every year for the next ten years . Membership fee brings access to different web sites and links to various pension and lawsuits regarding Xerox in the past and also gives updates on current lawsuits now in progress . For example , the U S Supreme court has recently agreed to take on a Xerox lawsuit ( The Paul J. Frommert , et al v Sally L , Cronknight et al ) that was originally filed in 1 / 13 / 2006 regarding employees rehired before 1998 and their pension calculation and should produce a decision sometime next year . Usually ARXE members are given the lawfirm's toll free number and the different limitations of the suit and former Xerox employees can call and / or email to their different web sites and see if they have any money coming to them as a result of that particular lawsuit . Usually most of the past lawsuits have been closed long ago , but there are several new ones that surface every now and again .

The other benefits of ARXE membership is to support ARXE to retain our retiree health care benefits . Right now it's the post - 65 health care benefits , but ARXE expects it to move to the pre - 65 retiree health care benefits after the post - 65 health care benefits have ended next year ( January 1 , 2010 ) .

Anyway , you can join and get more questions answered at : http://www.arxe.org
