Docusp manual Instalation. (Without boot Floppy)
« on: May 30, 2009, 05:15:49 PM »
I need you guys experts some advice, I tried to manual install the docusp software without the floppy.

First - Installed Sun Solaris 2.6 and resized some partitions, /OPT /VAR, I did that because /VAR is the spool directory so i thought that should be nice to have some more space for that than 26MB, and /OPT because after my first trial installing docusp I got an space requirement error for that partition.

Then, I opened admin tolls, software management.
and Edit, ADD and select DocuSP CD, for my surprise it allowed to choose between 3 options, DocuSP, XDOD Gateway and diagnostics.

Instalation work succesfully and I started.

I rebboted the Sun but Docusp don´t started, so I called:

/opt/XRXnps/bin/execstartscm

then the docusp opened, I created Queues, defined paper stocks,

Installed License and it´s valid.

The only problem is that I can´t print, I got C03-308 fatal error.

  Easy.

C03-308 is a non-specific "software fault" code, a so called "garbage can" fault.

You could try an "upgrade" using the existing DocuSP cd.  This should give you the same DocuSP load that you would have gotten with a conventional install using the install floppy.

I would delete any queues, and any jobs you might have in the job manager before you attempt the "upgrade"

# /opt/XRXnps/bin/upgrade    [enter]      will launch the upgrade script

2.10.18 was the last major distribution of this version of DocuSP  I assume you only have the one license (6135 license)?   I believe the diagnostic was not licensed until 1.4  (but ten year old memories are hazy).  If you loaded 2.1 and the media is readily available, the OS license issued for your 1.xx would work with the 2.xx    Email me for further details.

After MUCH digging, I found the entire software set including the boot floppy for DocuSP 2.10 for the DT65/75/90

Your OS license would still work with this software.

I also have two nice DT65's in storage, one of them is almost new.  Also a nice DT90.  I'd sell all three for $500.
