XEROX 2101
« on: March 10, 2010, 06:01:39 PM »
I recently bought 3 pieces 2101 machines, and this is my first contact with them.

The machines came sepparated of RIP's so I dont know which rip is wrom which machine.
RIP's look like 1010 not like 2101 rip with display, these ones that I received are without display, and I received system software V2.0 ( there are 3 CD's ) in tha package.

Problem is that I can't get them to run as printers, I have instalation documentation forEX2101 RIP with display ( which is like most  other fiery rip like XP12....) , but my rip's are without the display they are like EX1010 rip's.

Does anybodu knows how this machines work ?
I do need service manual or EDOC for this machines !

What I see in the picture looks like the copy server, not the RIP... The 2101 is an odd beast in that it has a Copy Server, which is in an external tower like RIPs often are, but is ALSO has the EX2101 RIP which is also external. In other words, the copier functionality which is nearly always INternal on most machines is actually EXternal. If you only have the one external RIP-like box you show in the picture, you don't have a printer, you only have a copier. The EX2101 has a more traditional (old-school) Fiery look rather than the mesh front.

This is my understanding of how the 2101 works. Double-check, of course, but I've seen the EX2101 before, and there's no mistaking it and the Copy Server, which look very different. And what you have in the pictures is definitely the Copy Server
