DC6060 stopping
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:34:51 PM »
I have a DC6060 that runs fine unless the customer tries to run 11 x 17 duplex. Then the machine runs 3 prints and pauses and the screen "printer has been stopped". press to resume or delete. If resume is selected, it runs 3 more and does the same thing. If nothing delected, it will resume on it's own after about a minute.
All other job types run fine, just 11 x 17 duplex.
This is happening on both the EXP6000 Fiery and CXP6000 creo.
This machine has a HCSS
Any thoughts?

On some of the 6060's, there is a corruption of NVM that will do this on some specific stock, try changing the weight, it will probably go away. I seem to remember reading about this a while back.

Changing the weight didn't help, but thanks.
I finally got on site with my PWS. This also happens when running diagnostics. I did get a fault. actually 4 of them all for the Waste bottle position error. Efery time? \
went through the rap and it had me replace the IOT PWBA. Now I get 04-311 IOT to FIU board fault. Put the old IOT back in and it's now the same.

Thought?

uggghh.....

I hate the color printer firmware, it is so sensitive.
It sounds like you might have to do a firmware rewrite on it, this is not for the faint of heart.
I had someone about 8 years ago try to show me how to do it, and he killed 3 boards on a 2060, did i get a sorry? Not, he left town.
Sorry, that still bugs me, $3k in circuit boards later. Anyway, i would have someone who is better than i am talk you through it.

OK. This one is fixed. It would have been impossible for you guys to help.
We refurbished this 6060 for resale. I forgot (then didn't think it relevant) that the unit came in with a busted Plug connector p-735 in the back of the ouput module. My tech repaired it and everything appeared to work.
It came back to me when I finally got on site and PWS declared a waste container position fault when it stopped on 11 x 17 duplex.
Long story short, pin 14 and 16 were swapped.
14 is the waste container position sensor, and 16 is a duplex sensor.
Glad that's over with.
